Valentine's Day
Treats for dinner
After exchanging funny Valentine's, we left our house by 9:15 this morning and headed to Midway to hook up the 5th wheel.  It didn't take as long this time-we must be getting better with practice.  It was raining with sun breaks as we drove down I-5 to Chehalis where we turned west on Rt 6 out to Raymond. Along I-5, there were several miles of railroad track with double stacker cars.  The wind damage to the trees along the track was extensive.  Somebody will have months and months of wood cutting this summer to clear fallen trees from the cars. Though probably a longer route, it was pretty country side.  We saw three herds of elk feeding in the meadows.  It continued to rain off and on except for a few minutes near Pe Ell where it was spitting snow.  We found the campground in Chinook but not in time to make the turn so we traveled along to Ilwaco to turn around.  The campground is pretty empty so it wasn't any problem to get a site.  One of the campers said a much bigger storm was heading in so we got busy setting up before that hit (it never did actually).  We had snack and toasted 42 years of Valentine's Day memories before taking a walk to see the sunset.  We had dinner at a local resturant where they gave us 2 kinds of cake to celebrate.
