Sunshine and blue sky makes Southwest Washington so pretty this morning. We drove North to Cape Disappointment for a view of Beard's Hollow and the surf. Read about the shipwrecks before a lighthouse was built. One barque even sank with the materials on board to build 3 lighthouses. Headed into Astoria to the Finnware store for tasty mustard, vodka chocolates and Finncrisp crackers. Walked around town and had coffee at the Bistro. Met an interesting woman who had been to Maine and whose husband sounded like Sonny's political clone. We drove to Hammond to walk a couple of miles on the River Walk. The river and city views were spectacular in the late afternoon sun. We placed the ashes of an old friend, Aili, into the Colmbia River near where she liked to fish for salmon.
